Exmoor Red Deer
Exmoor's herds of wild red deer are commonly found across the moorland, in wooded valleys and on the open farmland. You will often find them bathing in early morning sunlight, or at dusk on sun facing slopes.
At colder times of year they can be found on the sides of wooded valleys for warmth.
Each Autumn, October, the prehistoric and eery sound of braying can be heard echoing around Exmoor as the stags seek their mates.
Get close to them with an Exmoor Safari with Barle Valley Safaris or Discovery Safaris.
